SYLPH 2012/03

Just announced in the latest issue of SYLPH was the release of the next DGS Hibiki tankoubon volumes! Vol.3 will be relesed on March 22nd, and vol.4 on April 21st. Both will retail for 630 yen. There will also be a big announcement included with the comics.

The next issue of SYLPH will include a bonus booklet featuring DGS Hibiki illustrations by Iwasaki sensei, as well as her comments on drawing the illustrations. This month’s issue was supposed to include the concluding chapter of the DGS Hibiki manga but they were not able to fit the entire chapter in one issue so next month’s issue will be the real end.

OnoD will be releasing a new single on November 30! There is no official announcement for it yet on the Lantis website, but a product page has been added to Amazon Japan. According to the page, it will be two discs and retail for 1800 yen. The second disc will be a PV DVD.

I guess we can expect the new song to be sung at OrePara in December!

Speaking of OrePara, OnoD and the other OrePara members will hold a live radio broadcast on September 21 from 22:00-23:00 on Chou! A&G. Full details are here.

EDIT 11/9: The new single will be titled DELIGHT with c/w songs Right On Funky Night and Shitta Junai 1, chu, 3!!. Shitta Junai 1, chu, 3!! will feature guest vocals by Chihara Minori. The CD info can be found on Lantis’ website here. Yesterday’s Lantis no! AniSon Tuesday!! on Bandai Namco Live TV showed part of the PV for DELIGHT. OnoD’s outdone himself again. X3 Looking forward to the release and OrePara!

The annual DGS public recording was at CharaHobby on Saturday. I’ll try to have a report up soon but in the mean time, the big announcement was that the show will have a new opening and ending song in October and a new single, Smiley Time, will be released November 2nd!

At KAmiYU in Wonderland 2 in Osaka on Sunday, it was announced that Kamiya would be releasing his first full album on December 14th! The album will include 10 songs, including For myself and Nijiiro Chouchou. The limited edition will include a DVD and retail for 3990 yen. The regular edition will be 2940 yen. The announcement can be found on the Kiramune website.

Also, if my ears did not fool me, I’m sure I heard OnoD narrating the promotion video for Gundam AGE at today’s Gundam.info stage at CharaHobby, and also as the character Wolf Eniacl! There still has not been an official cast announcement but rumor has it that Kamiya will be in the series.

The recording will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 12:30PM. CharaHobby will take place August 27-28 at Makuhari Messe halls 1-3. Advanced tickets will be 1300 yen for one day, or 2200 yen for both days. Tickets at-door will cost 1500 yen.

As usual, you can apply for seating at the recording by sending a postcard to the show, applying via SYLPH, and/or applying via AnimeloMix. Applications will start June 22 and the deadline will be July 21. There will be 400 seats available.

We can expect new CCP goods, I’m sure. =)

First up, the furoku!
As mentioned on last week’s DGS, upcoming issues of SYLPH will include straps as bonuses. July’s issue (to be released 5/21) will include a rubber strap of HiroC, OnoD, and Nyaa san. The August issue (to be released 6/22) will include a figure strap of HiroC, and the September issue (to be released 7/22) will include a figure strap of OnoD. The figure straps are similar to those included in previous issues. Aren’t they adorable? =)

Next, as with every DGS public recording, the 4 Lovers Only event in April will feature new tshirts! Each will retail for 2500 yen. Kamiya’s tshirt design reads “Experience Heart Strength & horse?” in reference to this year’s birthday episode where he started writing “経験 (keiken/experience) and it somehow turned into “馬 (uma/horse).” OnoD’s tshirt is “We <3 DG,” following up on his “I <3 DG” design, and Suwa san’s tshirt is “Do Glasses Sadistics.”

As for DGS Hibiki goods, they’ll be selling the following:

• HiroC/OnoD netsuke straps – 500 yen each
• Goods Set 4 Lovers Only – 3500 yen
  Includes a tumbler mug, 2 earl grey tea bags, a ticket and photo album, and a set of HiroC/OnoD teru teru bouzu straps inside a large shopper bag
• Neko Masshigura Hibiki Can Premium – 800 yen
  Milk and melonu-flavored caramel candies inside a cat food-like can
• Long Poster (2-poster set) – 500 yen

The event is just over a month away. So exciting!

Lastly, I mentioned it on Hibiki’s Twitter account, but the release of the DGS album, Stories, has been delayed until April 6th due to the large earthquake on March 11th.

SYLPH 2011/03

A huge announcement was published in this month’s SYLPH (released 1/22).

Dear Girl ~Stories~ Birthday Disc 2010 Kamiya Hiroshi Seitansai Radio CD will be released February 24. A tokuten DVD will be included which includes

Dear Girl ~Stories~ THE MOVIE on it! The two-disc set will retail for 4700 yen. Pre-orders open tomorrow, January 23.

This month’s issue of SYLPH does not include a chapter of DGS Hibiki but came with a DGS Hibiki shitajiki (pencil board). April and May’s issues will both include DGS Hibiki furoku. April’s issue will come with body painting stickers of DGS logos and such, and May’s will include an uchiwa (fan).

On the day of its release, For myself ranked #4 on the singles daily chart, and then moved up to #3 the next day. On the singles weekly chart, it ranked at #6 with 18,517 copies sold. To get into the top 10 is a huge feat. At the For myself release commemoration event on the 26th, it was announced that Kamiya’s second single will be released April 6th, 2011 and be titled Nijiiro Chouchou.

On the other hand, OnoD’s Netsuretsu ANSWER debuted at #4 on the singles daily chart on the day of its release and climbed up all the way to #2. On the weekly chart, it ranked in at #5 with an estimated 10,205 copies sold. WOW! Kamiya’s For myself dropped down to #29 the same week.

Note that For myself had over one week to accumulate its sales on the weekly chart, whereas Netsuretsu ANSWER had only about a week. Netsuretsu ANSWER is the ending theme to the Battle Spirits Brave anime, which probably gives it more exposure compared to For myself. Nevertheless, both Kamiya and OnoD were able to get their singles in the top 10 of Oricon’s singles weekly chart! Congratulations to them both!

Big news #1. DGS album release on 3/23!!!
The album will be titled “Stories.” There will be 12 songs in total, including 3 new songs (one completely new song). Samba and Namaste will not be included. =P

Prologue and To be continued… are the instrumental opening and ending melodies from when DGS first started, but this time with lyrics.

Big news #2. DGS event at Pacifico Yokohama on 4/23!!!
The event will be titled “4 Lovers Only” at Pacifico Yokohama and is planned to run from 5~7:30PM. The cast includes Kamiya Hiroshi, Ono Daisuke, Yusa Kouji, Okiayu Ryoutarou, and Yonagappa. There will be a radio talk, DGS Hibiki, videos, and live (singing)! Tickets will retail for 6300 yen and there will be an advanced lottery for Animelo members 12/20 ~ 1/10. General sales will begin 2/13.

Also, the DGS movie will finally be showing in Kouchi. ^^

Daily 9/30

The newest single from Dear Girl ~Stories~, Dear Girl wa Nemuranai, has ranked in on the Oricon Music Chart. Oricon gathers its sales data from over 25,000 retailers, making it one of the best sales statistic sites. Dear Girl wa Nemuranai debuted on the Daily Singles chart at #10 on its release day, then climbed to #5 the next day, and fell to #9 the day after. On the Weekly Singles chart, it debuted at #13, DGS’ best ever weekly Oricon ranking. (Netsuai S-O-S! has ranked in at #15 on the weekly chart.) According to the OtaSuke website, the single only needed about 500 more sales to make it to #10 on the weekly chart. Ranking in the top 10 on Oricon’s

weekly chart is a huge feat. Though Dear Girl wa Nemuranai fell a bit short, it is still hard to get into the top 20 and ranking in at #13 doesn’t negate the fact that this single has produced the best sales DGS has ever had.

Aside from Oricon, Dear Girl wa Nemuranai also ranked in at #1 on Billboard JAPAN’s Top Independent Albums and Singles chart, updated October 4th. It’s quite amazing to see a DGS CD rank in so high on the most prestigious music charts. It shows just how much popularity and influence this radio show has. Yeah, don’t forget– This is a radio show!

DG Sanda

In other news, Dear Girl Sanda is now being sold at Family Mart convenient stores all over Japan (except Miyagi-ken, Kagoshima-ken, and Okinawa; Hokkaido pending investigation). They were supposed to go on sale Monday, October 4 but it seems none of the stores had them out yet. The next day, I checked a Family Mart in Akihabara, and it was already sold out! I guess that’s what you expect from Akihabara though… The day after I checked a Family Mart near my station and they had it! Yay~! There aren’t many Family Marts where I live; there are mostly 7-11s, so it’s kind of unfortunate that Dear Girl Sanda is only sold at FamiMa.

Postcards

Yesterday, pre-orders for Dear Girl Sanda were available for pick-up at Animate, so I went and got my two boxes with bonus postcard. Shortly after I got home, the delivery man came with my order from the Chou! A&G Shop with four more boxes of Dear Girl Sanda! (Two are for a friend.) There is also a bonus postcard you can receive from Chou! A&G Shop if you buy two boxes. Since I bought four, I received two postcards, which was a bit surprising since I thought you only get one per order. Well, I’m not complaining!
